Role Play 1 – Aeromonas Infection

Disease: Bacterial (Aeromonas bacteria) Ulcers, bleeding, loss of appetite

👨‍🌾 Farmer (B):

Good morning, Technician. Some of my tilapia have red ulcers and they're not eating.

👩‍🔬 Technician (A):

That sounds like Aeromonas infection. When did you first notice the symptoms?

👨‍🌾 Farmer:

Two days ago.

👩‍🔬 Technician:

You should isolate the sick fish immediately. Improve water quality and reduce stress.

👨‍🌾 Farmer:

Role Play 2 – White Spot Disease (Ichthyophthirius)

Disease: Parasitic (White spot) Small white dots on skin, fish rubbing against objects

Hello, I see white spots on my carp and they keep rubbing against the tank walls.

👩‍🔬 Technician:

That's likely white spot disease. It's caused by a parasite.

👨‍🌾 Farmer:

How can I stop it?

👩‍🔬 Technician:

👨‍🌾 Farmer:

And prevention?

Role Play 3 – Koi Herpesvirus (KHV)

Disease: Viral (KHV) Gills turning pale, high mortality, lethargy

👨‍🌾 Farmer:

Technician, my koi are dying quickly. Their gills look pale.

👩‍🔬 Technician:

That could be KHV. It spreads very fast.

👨‍🌾 Farmer:

What should I do?

👩‍🔬 Technician:

Quarantine the pond, stop fish movement, and disinfect equipment.

Role Play 4 – Columnaris Disease

Disease: Bacterial (Flavobacterium columnare) Cotton-like patches on skin or gills, frayed fins

I see white cotton-like patches on my catfish and their fins are damaged.

👩‍🔬 Technician:

That's probably Columnaris disease.

👨‍🌾 Farmer:
