LKPD Pertemuan 1 – Listening & Identifying Success Factors
Murid dapat menyimak/membaca teks naratif tentang kesuksesan usaha budidaya, lalu mengidentifikasi alur cerita bisnis (hulu–hilir) dan minimal 3 faktor kunci sukses.
Students can listen to/read a narrative text about aquaculture success, then identify the business storyline (upstream–downstream) and at least 3 key success factors.
Pak Budi is a fish farmer from a village in West Java. Ten years ago, he inherited two small ponds from his father. At that time, he felt worried. The ponds were old, and the water was often dirty. Many fish died before they were ready for harvest. Pak Budi almost gave up.
One day, he visited the local fisheries office. He asked for advice. The officer explained two important parts of the business: upstream and downstream. Upstream means preparing the pond, choosing healthy fish seeds, and managing water quality. Downstream means processing the harvest and selling the products to customers.
Pak Budi decided to change. First, he focused on upstream. He installed a simple machine to add oxygen to the water. He tested the water every morning. He also reduced the number of fish seeds in each pond. Instead of putting too many, he put fewer seeds so the fish had more space to grow. This was his first key success factor: quality over quantity.
The results were amazing. The fish grew bigger and healthier. His first big harvest gave him a good profit. But Pak Budi did not stop there. He thought about downstream. He learned to smoke the fish and pack it nicely. He named his product “Budi’s Smoked Fish”. By selling processed fish, he earned three times more money. This was his second success factor: adding value.
Pak Budi also saw that his neighbors still struggled. He invited them to work together. They formed a group to buy fish feed at lower prices. They also shared tools and knowledge. Together, they got a contract to supply a supermarket in the city. This was his third success factor: collaboration.
Today, Pak Budi’s business employs fifteen young people from the village. He often says, “Success does not come from working alone. It comes from learning, improving, and helping each other.” His story shows that with the right strategy—from upstream to downstream—a small fish farm can become a big success.
